Double in size

5/5/15

So we did an official weigh in to see where the pups are. It is official that all the pups have actually doubled in size in 9 days.  All the pups are growing very steadily with the new leader heavy weight category.

The one we've name (temporarily) as specks is the big winner tonight weighing in at 1 lb. 8 oz.  The difference between him and the runt is only a few ounces.  But that is all it takes to be a WINNER!

Bringing up the lighter side of the scale is "Miso".  It is short for Miso Tiny.  She was the smallest at birth and continues to be the smallest.  She is consistent though with a gain of 100 grams which is roughly the same as all the other pups.

If there was a category for snuggle champion, she would be the leader.  She can lay in any position with complete content!

We are within a week of the eyes and ear opening.  That will be a big game changer.  standing should taking the first steps should happen sometime next week.

1 day old 4/27/15

We are officially one day old and doing great.  Lahtsa needed a quick rinse in the shower and rub down with some puppy shampoo last night before bed and we changed out the bedding that was used for the birth.  It was a little smelly.

She didn't get up this morning so we treated her to breakfast in bed.  heated up puppy food mixed with some tasty canned food.  What hungry nursing mom could refuse.  The pups are sleeping, eating and pooping.  All is going great.

Tails and dew claws are scheduled for removal on Thursday at Reber Ranch.  It will not be a highlight to their day but they will start to look more like they should.
